Job Summary
NUS Centre for Cancer Research (N2CR), Translational Research Program hopes to develop new ways to detect, cure and prevent cancer through internationally leading fundamental research. The program aims to advance our understanding of cancer and translate research discoveries into clinical practice that benefits patients. The program’s emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration will bring fundamental researchers in biomedical sciences together with scientists and engineers to develop enabling technology to address major scientific or clinical challenges.
The Senior Executive plays a pivotal role in providing administrative support to Principal Investigators and various Research Programs hosted by N2CR. This role involves coordinating outreach activities, managing finances and human resources, assisting with grant and graduate program administration, and ensuring efficient document management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Outreach:
- Manage program membership and generate publications bibliometrics
- Assist in handling program initiatives and partnerships with different NUS departments/schools
- Organize virtual and face-to-face events, fundraising activities, workshops, and seminars
- Prepare and update events on newsletters and websites, manage media relations
- Disseminate related research news and promote the research program where applicable
Finance & HR
- Assist with financial administration, including budget tracking, virements, procurement, and claims
- Liaise with the Finance Team for efficient management of financial affairs
- Support HR-related matters, including job descriptions preparation, liaising with NUS HR, and payroll funds check where applicable
- Conduct induction for new recruits, maintain records of program research staff, and manage profiles for research program members on websites
Grant & Graduate Program
- Assist with post-grant awards processes and raise tasks in the grant iRIMS system
- Support administrative matters related to the graduate program and act as a liaison with NUS Medicine, Division of Graduate School
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure proper document management and timely correspondence
- Maintain letters of award, approvals, amendments, etc.
- Maintain computerized grant/financial data and progress reports. Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in program and grant management in a research or academic setting.
- Familiarity with financial administration and human resources processes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in a cancer research or healthcare-related field is desirable.
