Treasury Assistant

Wood Mackenzie is looking for an experienced Treasury Assistant with excellent problem solving and analytical skills to manage and maintain global and multi-currency bank accounts. This role will sit within our Wood Mackenzie business in Singapore and is integral to the Global Treasury Team providing technical support to internal stakeholders at Wood Mackenzie and maintaining collaborative relationships with external parties.


The person that fills this role must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, energized by a challenge, and passionate about delivering a first-class service to our business.


Role Purpose

The Treasury Assistant will be a valuable member of a global treasury team reporting to a Assistant Treasury Manager based in Singapore. The main responsibilities of the Treasury assistant would include, although will not be limited to, a diverse range of tasks with the aim of managing and maintaining global and multi-currency bank accounts owned by Wood Mackenzie.


Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain cash book daily and assist in the reporting and distribution of various reports to various teams and departments within the Asia Pacific region.
  • Support daily activities on the global internal treasury system (Daily data feeds are complete, as well as validate the integrity of the data)
  • Responsible for initiating all payment instructions (Salary, taxes, etc) on the banking portal. Resolve any issues with the payments in a timely manner.
  • Be familiar with all currency restrictions and individual country banking regulations.
  • Liaise with the banks. Address all account related matters.
  • Liaising and support other departments and team members within the
  • Support a senior member of staff with any tasks related to the onboarding of a newly acquired business.
  • Assist with various bank account management tasks (Submission of relevant bank forms, comply with KYC requirements, and other account administration tasks).
  • Multi-currency cash forecasting
  • Input and validate journals into Oracle on a timely manner.
  • Complete all bank account reconciliations on a monthly basis with no long outstanding items in the reconciling items.
  • Do monthly forex reasonableness checks on all transactions posted in Oracle.
  • Other ad hoc tasks, projects and programs within the Treasury Department.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving and analytical skills with solid attention to details
  • First-class communication skills in English and Mandarin, both verbal and written. Basic understanding of Malay, Japanese or Cantonese is an advantage.
  • Proven work experience of performing a similar role
  • One to two years of work experience in audit is preferred. Not a must.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Knowledge of Oracle is an advantage
