The main role of a Facility Manager is to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of buildings so that they meet both safety and health standards as well as legal requirements. They are responsible for collecting data and analyzing it to adjust to current processes and plans. Effective communication, in-depth knowledge of the subject, and people skills will help motivate the facilities management team. A great FM will actively engage with staff and vendors to bring out the best performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will manage, lead a group of in-house team and drive to complete the day-to-day operational activities;
- Work with the relevant parties or in-house facilities management teams to establish control & operational guidelines, and liaising with the relevant authorities for regulatory compliance for each site;
- Manage expenditure, address operational and administrative issues as well as ensuring compliance and good work ethics;
- Engage employees to further pro-actively communicate/cascade key priorities of the organization and required accountabilities within the team, and establish an environment of open two way communication and learning;
- Plan, organize and manage the performance of team members and where necessary initiates corrective actions to cover shortfalls in performance and capabilities.
Requirements
- Degree in Facilities Management/ Building Services or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in managing Grade 'A' commercial and/or industrial buildings
- Candidate certified as Senior Fire Safety Manager will have added advantages
- Good leadership & management skills with positive energy and drive
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
