Job Description: Media Resource Librarian
Position: Media Resource Librarian
Duration: 1-year base period with an option for a further 1-year extension
Location: St. Andrew’s Junior School, 2 Francis Thomas Drive, Singapore 359337
Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:00pm (inclusive of 45-min lunch break)
- Fridays: 8:00am to 4:30pm (inclusive of 45-min lunch break)
- No service required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Operations and Administration of the School Library:Maintain the school library system, resources, and equipment.
Manage circulation and online inquiries.
Provide loan and information services to students and teachers.
Organize and catalog library collections.
Maintain supplementary resources for teaching and learning.
Manage non-library desk copies and teacher professional development resources.
Ensure data integrity in the library system.
Generate and maintain P1 to P6 Library Cards.
- Implementation of Library Policies and Procedures:Circulate library collection.
Develop and preserve the collection.
Conduct inventory checks and maintenance.
Assist in planning library schedules.
Liaise with suppliers for the purchase and delivery of library resources.
- Management of Library Facilities:Manage library facilities for staff meetings.
Display pupils' artworks for library showcase.
- Preparation of Reports:Prepare monthly, termly, and semesterly reports on library usage, loan statistics, collection profiles, etc.
- Support and Management of Library Programs:Promote library collection, services, and activities.
Coordinate and support extensive reading programs.
Conduct library orientation and user education programs.
Promote special events managed by the School Library Committee.
- Parent Volunteer Management:Manage parent volunteers for library programs, events, and activities.
- Assistance to Teachers:Provide assistance to teachers in library activities, including Values in Action (VIA) initiatives.
- Other Duties:Perform any other tasks assigned by Teacher-In-Charge, Administration Manager, and School Leaders.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum GCE 'O' level certificate.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a library.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
