Job Title: Science Laboratory Technician
Location: Cedar Primary School, 15 Cedar Avenue, Singapore 349700
Duration of Service: Contract Period: From 2 May 2024 to 30 April 2025.
Option to Extend: The Contractor grants the Authority the option to extend the Contract for a further period of 1 year from 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2026.
Personnel Deployment Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, inclusive of 1-hour lunch break
- Fridays: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, inclusive of 1-hour lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Services:
Science Laboratory Technician:
- Support inquiry-based learning for Science.
- Ensure smooth operations of two science laboratories to facilitate hands-on learning.
- Assist teachers in preparing materials and apparatus for practical lessons and assessments.
- Manage, operate, and maintain science laboratories and learning environments.
- Source, procure, and maintain inventory of equipment and materials.
- Take responsibility for laboratory safety and serve as a certified first aider.
- Assist in logistic support and supervision during classes, workshops, and events.
- Provide general office support including reception duty, handling telephone calls, and inventory management.
- Accompany school students on Science field trips and other duties as assigned.
Qualification, Skill & Experience of the Contractor’s Personnel:
- Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
- GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a lab technician in a primary school
- Proficient in handling live specimens and chemicals
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Punctuality; able to report to school by 7 am
