Functional Relationships with: Administration, Factory, Sales & Product Division staffs in ASEAN and India
Position Profile
Based in: Singapore
The successful candidate will: be engaged in contract support, managing disputes and compliance program.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for daily operation, as well as projects assigned as person in charge (such as legal research and writing, drafting, proofreading, reviewing and arranging for execution of relevant contracts, creation and update of templates and the like)
- Provide refresher training for sales members in ASEAN + India on Purchase Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements and any relevant contracts to improve their awareness with regards to the potential legal risks
- Proactively address legal issues with legal firms including disputes, litigation, and any regulatory matters that might affect Murata’s business in ASEAN + India
- Conduct compliance trainings relating to anti-cartel, anti-corruption, anti-fraud, conflicts of interest, whistleblowing and the like, and review relevant materials as appropriate
- Management of whistleblowing system as window person and supporting investigations of reports via such system and other major misconducts by employees if any
- Review and revise internal rules related to compliance
- Look into latest information on legal matters including revisions of laws and regulations in ASEAN + India, and provide such information to our affiliates therein
- Advice and support to external audits on legal domain
- Assist in improving work efficiency to current administration structure
- Dealing with regulatory matters including correspondence with regulators and regulatory examinations of Security Export Control regulations
- Guidance and training for young legal staff through sharing of experience
Ability / Competency Required
- Degree/Diploma in legal field, international business or equivalent
- Minimum 4-7 years of legal experience working in law firms or as an in-house legal and compliance
- Experience on advising on intellectual property and information security matters
- Highly competent with MS Office (Power Point, Excel and especially Word)
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Able to multi-task and self-motivated individual under a challenging work environment
- A team player with a positive attitude, independent and pro-active individual
- Able to travel for ASEAN and India region
- Good social etiquette and writing skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and deadline-oriented
