Job Overview:
The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), part of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), is looking for a research specialist to work on integrated quantum photonics. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of researchers developing integrated photonics devices for quantum technologies, including superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs), nonlinear/quantum photonic components based on thin-film lithium niobate, and heterogeneously integrated functional devices. This work will lead to exciting applications in cutting-edge technologies such as quantum information processing and photonic computing.
The roles of the successful candidate will include:
- Fabrication of integrated photonic devices, including performing lithography, etching, material growth, and imaging in cleanrooms
- Optimization of growth and fabrication process for superconducting detectors
- Performing basic optical/electronic characterization
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, mechanical engineering, material science, or other relevant fields
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in (or strong willingness to learn) nano/micro-fabrications
- Basic knowledge of optics and photonics
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python)
- Hands-on experience in the characterization of electronic/photonic devices is desirable
- Ability to communicate well and work closely with team members
The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
