A Research Associate position is available in the Centre for Integrated Circuits and Systems , School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The Research Associate is tasked to assist in developing a software/hardware co-design platform for prototyping secured ASIC/FPGA embedded systems, and for evaluating their associated security levels. The job requires strong ASIC design skills and good understanding on embedded systems for Internet-of-Thing applications.


Job Description:

The Research Associate will support the research for the project titled: SOCure: Assuring Hardware Security by Design in Systems on Chip. The roles of this position include testing and design evaluations based on the software platform for hardware security evaluations, including Side-Channel Attack and Trojan Detection.

Objectives:

  • To benchmark/evaluate the security levels of the Crypto IC Chips
  • To provide better counter-measure advices against hardware physical attack for future IC designs
  • To investigate various platforms of attacks for and improve the effectiveness

Scopes:

  • Pre-silicon attacks
  • Post-silicon attacks
  • Data pre-processing
  • Data correlation/variance analyses


Job Requirements:

  • Possess at least Master Degree or equivalent in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related any field with background on Digital Integrated Circuit Design and/or Cryptography
  • 3-year research experience in related area
  • Expertise in side-channel-analysis, including first-order and second order attacks
  • Good publication track record in related areas
  • Knowledge in FPGA/ASIC design
  • Knowledge of hardware security and cybersecurity
  • Experience on ASIC design front-end methodologies (e.g. synthesis, simulations, modelling, verification)
  • Experience on ASIC back-end methodologies (e.g. place-and-route, layout, characterization)
  • Experience on Printed Circuit Board design
  • Experience in software/hardware co-designs
  • Possess skills in software/hardware trouble shooting
  • Proficiency in English
