Job Overview:
The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) is a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR). We are looking for an individual with a passion for science who is highly motivated. A successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of researchers working at the forefront of quantum technologies. In this position, you will be a member of Quantum Photonics and Information group and mainly work on continuous variable (CV) based on quantum information technology.
In this role, you will work on the following but not limited to:
- Development of high-performance sources to generate squeezed light.
- Characterizing the squeezed light.
- Continuous variable (CV) quantum information.
- Large cluster state generation & characterization.
- Collaborate with other group members to exploit the advantages of CV quantum systems in various applications.
- Quantum metrology & sensing.
- Data processing, programming, and automation of lab setups.
- Scientific dissemination (journal papers, conferences, and patents)
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in physics/optics, or closely related fields
- Candidate with relevant experience or PhD training experience are welcome to apply.
- Substantial hand-on experience in experimental research in quantum optics and quantum information is advantageous.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment for quantum optics experiments, including lasers, optical components, and detectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to present research findings clearly and concisely.
- A passion for pushing the boundaries of quantum science and technology and a desire to contribute to ground breaking research.
- Self-motivated and passionate on research work
- Able to independently plan and execute research work
- Good team player
- Possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
