The Director of Membership and Affiliates plays a crucial leadership role, directly reporting to the Chief Officer of Membership. This individual is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the educational membership functions, developing and maintaining the affiliate programs, and ensuring operational excellence and growth. The role demands a strategic mindset focused on membership engagement, process efficiency, and affiliate relationship management.
How you will Contribute:
1. Membership:
- Lead operational and budget planning to ensure the membership department aligns with the organization's strategic goals.
- Manage and oversee membership projects within area of responsibility from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Generate comprehensive reports to track membership growth, engagement levels, and other key metrics.
- Develop and refine membership systems and processes to improve efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Craft and implement engagement plans to increase member participation and retention.
- Enhance member value through clear communication of benefits, regular updates, and improvements to the value proposition.
- Conduct Member Value Surveys (MGI) to gauge member satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Define and segment membership criteria and categories to ensure a diverse and inclusive community.
- Supervise the communications and volunteer staff, ensuring cohesive team efforts and high performance.
2. Affiliates:
- Coordinate operational and budget planning for affiliate programs, ensuring they support the broader goals of the organization.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all affiliate activities and interactions.
- Oversee project management within the affiliate sector, ensuring timely and successful execution of initiatives.
- Develop and maintain robust systems and processes for managing affiliate relationships.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication between the organization, its affiliates, and AACSB staff to strengthen partnerships and collaborations.
- Fluency in the English language
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in membership management and/or affiliate relations, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
- Excellent project management, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and budget management.
- Experience with membership software and CRM systems.
- Ability to travel internationally 10-15%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience in educational or non-profit membership organizations.
- Advanced skills in data analytics and customer relationship management.
