Responsibillities:
1. Project Development
- Lead advisory of M&A, including leading valuation, financial and strategic analysis
- Lead Finance workstream for BU project teams to enhance project feasibility and optimize project returns
- It may include developing business cases, scenario analyses, financial modeling, deal structuring, supporting project financing, leading due diligence exercises, etc
- Provide insights on economic, accounting, and tax implications for growth projects as it may require
- Evaluate and advise on financial, commercial, and legal risk mitigation.
- Design, organize, and guide work streams through project stages. Work closely with project members from various functions to achieve project success
- Engage with external parties to support project development and execution
- Organize engagement sessions to drive project status and engage with internal stakeholders to share project updates and get guidance to advance projects
2. Investment Proposals Evaluation and Monitoring
- Investment Proposal (IP) appraisal and governance
- Follow Vopak Project Management (VPM) to evaluate Operating Companies (OpCos) IPs
- Provide financial input and guidance to OpCos to improve the project documents, and work with other functions to prepare recommendations to support project decision-making
- Evaluate project documents and financial models according to Vopak investment policies and financial evaluation guidelines
- Train and provide support to OpCos functions to improve local OpCos competency in project development
- Evaluate the feasibility of any ad-hoc projects as it may see fit and prepare proposals to support decision-making
3. Projects monitoring and reporting
- Be in the shareholders working team to steer and support discussions to look after Vopak's interests
- Monitor approved projects from a financial and risk management perspective to ensure projects are executed following assumptions and budgets as per approved IPs
- Work with Operating Companies (OpCos) and functional teams to deliver Project Implementation Review (PIR)
- Ensure data and information consistency and accuracy across various systems and sources
4. Business Analysis and Treasury
- Support commercial negotiations, contracts, and concession renewals
- Responsible for Financing and Treasury matters
- Devise and govern dividend policies of OpCos to support global headroom analysis
- Monitor OpCo growth agenda to ensure proper funding strategy in place by liaising with Corporate Treasury
- Review OpCos cash flow forecast to plan for equity injection, monitor dividend declaration from OpCos and provide support to OpCos to ensure compliance and maximize shareholder interests
- Ensure optimized funding structures for all OpCos
5. BU Anchor for Global Disciplines
- Work in cooperation and under the guidance of global team lead on various projects when needed, this includes New Energy, Vopak Venture, M&A, Corporate Business Analysis
Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, and engineering required
- Substantiated experience in business analysis and financial modeling, with at least ten years of experience in a similar capacity and high capex industry
- A team player and a leader
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
- Pro-active, attention to detail, results-driven, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong ability to plan, prioritize and organize
