About the Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP)
Optimizing the performance of health systems is essential to ensuring the wellbeing and longevity of populations worldwide. Singapore is particularly well placed to lead research in this field as its health system has been consistently ranked as one of the best in the world based in independent evaluation with the Global Burden of Disease data. The new Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) aims to advance research in this area within the National University Health System and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as the leading centre for research in health systems in Asia with the core functions of research, health pòlicy intelligence, capacity building and evaluation.
The multidisciplinary team of researchers in health systems (health services and policy researchers, data scientists, social scientists, and others), and administrators working in CRiHSP will provide an exciting and dynamic place in which people of diverse backgrounds collaborate towards the common goal of achieving excellence in Health Systems Research.
About the role
This role is to support the lead administrator in all CRiHSP’s research oriented activities to achieve its overarching mission. He/she will play a key role in supporting the Centre in its daily operations.
The Executive/Sr Executive will have the following duties:
1. Research Operations
Provide support in required financial functions, including grant management, aligning with NUS policies and coordinating with relevant internal and/or external stakeholders.
Coordinate the development and execution of agreements for research collaborations.
Assist the Centre PIs with ethical compliance matters, such as preparing ethics board applications and preparing for audits.
Assist the Centre PIs in preparing grant applications and progress reports.
Track research project outcomes and grant utilisation on a regular basis – providing summary reports to update the Centre Director and other PIs.
2. Secretariat Support
Support the Assistant Manager in organising the Centre’s teaching and research workshops to upskill the NUHS community on health services research and evaluation.
Arrange and coordinate regular meetings within the Centre and with its various stakeholders.
Assist the Assistant Manager with the Centre’s communication strategy, including the preparation of communication and publicity materials for the Centre.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work.
Job Requirements
- Minimum a Degree in Science or or equivalent fields
- At least 2 years of working experience in a research or academic organisation.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Highly developed problem-solving skills and adept at managing complex problems
- Outcome-orientation with excellent organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations
