Responsibilities:
· Responsible for day to day project supervision for repairs of commercial and naval vessels
· Ensure engine overhaul processes are carried out effectively and productively in order to meet customer specifications and requirements
· Ensure the quality assurance of engine repair work and oversee assigned project to achieve engine delivery deadline and target
· Workshop maintenance to prevent work interruption especially for critical components such as test bay facilities, cranes, governor and fuel pump/injector overhaul station and etc
· Assist department head in evaluating of technical/engineering requirements of the jobs
· Perform engineering calculations and analysis, review of of drawing and resolving site technical issues.
· Plan and execute job as per planned Critical Plan Analysis (CPA), update and review of changes, resolve them in order to complete job within planned schedule safety and good quality
· Coordinate with transport during heaving lifting/transporting and check condition and status of lifting appliances/equipments and tools
· Submit field/service reports after job acceptance, attached with deviation or deficiency reports
· Liaise with owners representative and/ or class surveyor during witness/ inspection.
· Provide in process quality control support both in workshop and onboard to ensure job completion within schedule and no reportable claim.
· Liaise with project manager (SRM) to arrange for inspection/acceptance as per required
· Responsible for pre-service, disassembly, assembly and pre-delivery inspection and duly filled/initialed the relevant checklists, protocols with reference to update version
· Requisition and verification of spare parts for the service work; consolidate the material, stock take and indent spare required for supplementary work
· Supervise and responsible for the quality control standard of work carried out by his team
Requirements:
· Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
· Preferably 3-5 years of working experiences in shipyards or OEMs for engines
· Able to perform troubleshooting on pneumatic, hydraulic, piping and basic electrical system with minimum guidance
· Knowledge on Engine overhauling and applied mechanics
· Familiarity with Engine Warranty, Claims and Job Acceptance related processes
· Able to supervise a team in both workshop and onboard vessels
