Job Description:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Western dishes such as sandwiches, pasta, steaks, and salads according to established recipes and standards. Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all dishes.
  • Collaborate with the head chef and management team to develop new and innovative menu items, considering local tastes and preferences while staying true to the café's concept and identity.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of food supplies, ensuring freshness and minimizing wastage. Place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed, adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques. Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with health regulations.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff and service crew members to coordinate food preparation and ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
  • Consistently strive to exceed customer expectations by delivering delicious and visually appealing dishes in a timely manner. Be responsive to customer feedback and strive to continuously improve the quality of food and service.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, such as grills, ovens, and fryers, to ensure cleanliness, proper functioning and safety. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, food handling, and cleanliness. Uphold professional standards of conduct and represent the café positively at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook or chef specializing in Western cuisine, preferably in a café or similar establishment.
  • Proficiency in preparing a variety of Western dishes, including grilling, frying, baking, and sautéing techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with Food Safety Level 1 certification and above.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and interact professionally with customers.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during operation hours.
