About the role:

We are looking for a new Head of Regional Communications APAC to lead our Communications Hub for Asia Pacific. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of international marketing and communications professionals, driving strategy and leadership communication, marketing communication, branding, digital communications, media relations & PR, social media, and employee communications. We seek a visionary leader who can steer our communications strategy across the APAC region, ensuring our message resonates with clarity and impact with local audiences.

The Head of Regional Communications APAC at DNV Maritime, reporting to the Global Head of Regional Communications & Brand based in Hamburg, Germany, will be a strategic partner based in our Singapore office. This position will be responsible for all Communications activities across the three Asian Regions: South East Asia, Pacific & India, Greater China and Korea & Japan. The team of the Regional Comms Hub comprises 5 communications and marketing experts based in Singapore, Shanghai, and Busan.


This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities:

  • Crafting and executing a long-term integrated communication strategy for the relevant regions, aligning with the global vision.
  • Overseeing the communications and marketing budgets across three distinct regions.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the Communications Hub team, fostering their growth and development.
  • Establishing and tracking performance metrics for the Communications Hub, ensuring objectives are met and success is quantifiable.
  • Spearheading regional and global communications projects and campaigns, managing them from conception to execution.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor on communications matters to the Regional Management and Business Development teams.
  • Building and maintaining robust media relationships, managing inquiries, and providing support during crisis situations.
  • Driving the creation and dissemination of content across various channels, including PR, social media, marketing materials, online platforms, and internal communications.
  • Coordinating and enhancing the presence at regional trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
  • Upholding brand integrity and consistency across all communication channels.
  • Leading a digital-first communications approach, leveraging marketing automation to potentially scale local initiatives on a global level.
  • Driving internal and leadership communications to provide a line of sight between high-level strategy and individual actions and goals.

About you:

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or similar
  • At least seven years of communications, marketing, or sales experience in a B2B business environment
  • Proven track record as a project manager and trusted advisor to top management
  • Experience in leadership, adept at managing and inspiring teams
  • Demonstrable understanding of content marketing tactics and technology
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of an international, virtual team
  • Experience of working within the Maritime industry would be an advantage

Personal qualities:

  • Native, or near-native fluency in English; Mandarin language skills (an advantage)
