PURPOSE OF THE POSITION


The Director, Finance CRM is the member of the Singapore APMII site leadership team for BIOTRONIK’s Cardio Rhythm Management Business Unit, responsible to handle all financial management and government affairs, and the site.


The Director also maintains responsibility for reporting CRM Global CAPEX and Product Cost (KHK).


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leadership in overseeing all finance, controlling, accounting, reporting activities, annual budgeting and planning process.
  • Review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate to the Managing Director.
  • Engaging the Senior Management team’s audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.
  • Oversee the Finance department in financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period
  • Oversees organizational cash flow forecasting.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders at the local and global level to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
  • Support preparation of presentations to the board finance and audit committee and will work closely with the Senior Management team
  • Maintain and build professional relationships with government agencies (NEA, EDB, JTC, etc…), statutory authorities, business proprietors and service providers.
  • Actively helps guide initiatives to pursue funding, grants and additional investment for the Company and related entities’ programs.
  • Monitor legislation and track happenings within the government bodies and business agencies that could affect our organization and business.
  • Supports the strategic business planning and efforts of the Company in regards to legislation and policy favorable to the Company overall business climate.
  • Analyze bids and proposals to ensure that the specifications of binding agreements comply with company policy.
  • Mentors staff on identified actions and outcomes and how to achieve, communicate, and work with key stakeholders to reach identified strategic goals and objectives.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for facilities contract matters.
  • Coordination of legal matters with external legal councils.
  • Occasional project management for business development.
  • Represents the Company at commission meetings, legislative hearings etc. if necessary
  • Compiles and reports at a Global Level for CRM CAPEX and Product Cost (KHK)
  • Other duties as directed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics or equivalent
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred


Experience:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with knowledge in the set-up of financial shared service centers
  • Knowledge of contracting concepts and contract acquisition law, regulations and standards
  • A track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants is essential
  • Keeping abreast of new legislation, government policy and best practice
  • Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
  • Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers
  • Good track record in auditing practices and procedures
  • Meticulous, responsible, independent and customer oriented
  • Confident decision maker
