The School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. The candidate will join the 2D semiconductor group, focusing on devices constructed from two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (2D-TMDs). As part of an esteemed collaborative team of scientists, postdocs, and Ph.D. students, the individual will delve into the areas of nanomaterials, spectroscopy, STEM, and theoretical modeling. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesizing 2D materials, especially transition metal dichalcogenides, via innovative methods such as CVD, CVT, and MOCVD.
- Characterizing 2D materials using techniques like AFM, XPS, XRD, Raman, PL.
- Engaging in STEM-HAADF and nanofabrication.
- Investigating electronic and optical properties of 2D materials.
Job Requirements:
- Applicants must possess a PhD in Physics, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related science discipline.
- Preferred experience includes: 2D materials synthesis methods like CVD, MBE, PLD; Raman spectroscopy of 2D materials; and nanofabrication of 2D devices.
- Given the research-centric aspect of the role, a strong foundation in solid-state physics is crucial.
- Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
- Experience in fabricating small-angle twisted graphene is beneficial.
