Overview:

As part of the Meyzer Group, a prominent entity in the Fintech sector, we are dedicated to advancing our industry through innovation and excellence. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing various aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to grow within a dynamic organization, particularly if they have experience or interest in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).


Responsibilities:

· Prepare monthly journals, accruals, and reconciliation reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

· Manage the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting, including generating profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.

· Oversee Accounts Payable matters, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation.

· Drive accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.

· Ensure compliance with all legislative tax and financial reporting requirements, handle audit and tax issues, and liaise with internal and external auditors.

· Prepare GST submissions in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

· Follow up on collections from customers to minimize outstanding accounts receivable.

· Take over company accounts during acquisitions, liaise with the other party, and set up all accounting software to ensure seamless integration of financial systems.


Requirements:

· Education studies in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles.

· Experience in handling M&A (merger & acquisition) transactions is essential.

· Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

· Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
