SIPEF is a Belgian company, based in Schoten and listed on Euronext Brussels. Role
- Work with vendors and local IT representatives in performing day-to-day operational functions in support of the Microsoft 365 environment, as well as system administration duties in a hybrid cloud environment (Hyper-V/VMware virtualization, Microsoft Windows server, Microsoft Azure Cloud, and Microsoft SQL).
- Ensure optimal system performance, security, and availability. This includes monitoring systems for potential bottlenecks, identifying and implementing solutions, performing system patching, and ensuring data backups for both on-premise and cloud systems.
- Support IT initiatives, which include assisting with Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT) and IT audit exercises, participating in the planning and execution of annual IT DR drills, and providing escalation support as needed.
Job Duties
- Provide technical leadership to the IT Operations team (vendor and local IT) to support system operations, Microsoft O365, networking, servers, change management, configuration management, user support, IT security, database administration, and Microwave communications.
- Identify and thoroughly research various server/storage architectures and applications suited for business operations and develop the business case justification if needed.
- Oversee installs, configuration, upgrades, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security for the agency file and database servers. Ensure that the server uptime is meeting the metrics.
- Oversee the user account management and development and deployment of patches.
- Manages group’s expectations and ensures prompt and complete service.
- Support the Infrastructure Lead on the enterprise LAN/WAN, IP Telephony, Routing, Wireless Backhaul, Data Centre Networking Technology, Cambium Networks (cnMaestro), and Network Management Systems (NMS) covering fault, configuration, performance, and capacity management environments and lead the design, plans, and implementations of related projects.
- Infrastructure and Network Management:
o Manages and performs expert-level network maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.
o Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves expert-level network problems.
o Roadmap network system and advise process improvements.
o Work with the Infra team to evaluate new and prospective network technologies. Be proactive member in the design and selection of future platforms, addressing cross-technology and cross-platform issues.
- Analyze the impact of existing or proposed projects on the enterprise infrastructure to ensure that projects do not compromise the security of the infrastructure or security policies.
o Good knowledge of Security Management (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, VMWare NSX, etc)
o Identify security risks and coordinate their remediation.
o Manage responses to security incidents.
o Provide practical security best-practice guidance to agency-wide networking initiatives.
o Monitors and enforces security procedures.
- Execute Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience as an architect with multi-disciplinary technical skills in Virtualization’s hypervisors, systems & storage, Backup, Network, DB, O365 and Hyper-converged.
- Expert knowledge of Load Balancing platforms - F5 or AVI / VMWare/Nutanix - MUST
- 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud engagement.
- 7+ years of Network Virtualization with VSAT Broadband experience.
- 3+ years of experience with Cambium Networks (Wireless Backhaul), Microwave links communication.
- Good knowledge of Certificates, DNS, DHCP, Authentication, and Authorisation.
- Experience with Cisco routing/switching equipment and routing technology and protocols.
- General experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection, threat mitigation.
- At least one relevant professional certification, such as the CCNP, CCIP, or CCIE.
- Vulnerability management experience.
- Compliance or audit experience.
- Process automation experience.
- Budget planning and/or cost estimation experience.
Preferred
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering. (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
- Understanding current networking trends, including SDN for Datacentre and SDWAN for WAN.
- Well-organized team player.
- Advanced analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
- Advanced technical and documentation skills.
- Affinity with Asian, African and Australian business interaction is a plus.
