Design Manager / Senior / Design Coordinator
Design Manager Key Responsibilities
- Study & review the project documents (Project specification, issued for construction drawings ,pre tender & post tender queries) in order to plan ahead for all required engineering according to the Project program.
- Ensuring compliancy with local standards and International Building Codes (IBC)
- Assist the Design Manager to plan, organize, implement, coordinate and control the construction of interior works.
- Review with Design Manager the engineering Logs to provide accurate delivery dates
- Liaises with the commercial team and highlight any difference between the Issued for construction drawings and Tender drawings.
- Drawings and diagrams: Preparation, back-drafting, updating as per project discipline requirements and good engineering practices
- Liaises with subcontractor and supplier to ensure their delivery of the required engineering submittals as planned earlier
- Plan and review the shop drawings done in house to ensure it is in line issued for construction documents
- Review the material submittals and shop drawings submitted by the subcontractors and ensure it is in line issued for construction documents
- Coordinate with all other discipline to produce a coordinated drawings for construction
- Independently able to provide solutions to problems in the field or ensure that sub-contractors’ Requests for Information are addressed quickly
- Control/ monitor and respond to client/ contractor and sub-contractor RFI’s
- Issue RFIs for any missing information / discrepancies within the issued for construction documents and arrange for workshops meeting with the consultant/client
- Ensuring that all RFIs replies have been reflected on the construction drawings and the site team are working based on the latest drawings
- Ensure that the engineering logs are updated on a daily basis and the information presented to the consutant /client within the weekly report are realistic and reflect the actual status of the Engineering
- Liaises with the commercial team and assist for the updating of the project change trackers on weekly basis to ensure that all design changes in reference to RFIs reply, comments on drawings, RFMs received from the consultant /client have been considered for any cost impact
- Adapts / executes existing drawings to incorporate design changes demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness
- Handling the different versions of the drawings and ensuring they are controlled in a sequential reference environment.
- Maintaining standards throughout the various stages of the design drawings
- Maintain accurate records of drawing issue sheets, referenced drawing numbers & title block
