About Our Client:
- With over 30 years of history, a cutting-edge laboratory based in Singapore, focusing on chemical and microbiological analyses essential for Bunker Oil and Environmental testing, which includes soil, water, and industrial waste.
- Working Hour: Mon - Fri / Tue - Sat (Based on the schedule)
1st shift: 08:30am to 06:00pm or 09:30am to 07:00pm
2nd shift: 11:00am to 08:30pm or 12:00pm to 09:30pm or 12:30pm to 10:00pm or 01:00pm to 10:30pm - Location: Woodlands
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the company's confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical standards, and health and safety practices.
- Manage and execute financial planning for the laboratory.
Supervise strategic goal planning and execution, as well as control and management of lab operations. - Drive the adoption of new capabilities and ensure their implementation.
- Validate results and issue reports as required (for approval).
- Review and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Plan method studies and tasks for the laboratory.
- Plan and conduct Proficiency Testing (PT).
- Lead by setting a positive example.
- Advocate and enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, integrity, compliance, and ethics.
- Evaluate the performance of staff members.
- Manage manpower, resources, and hiring processes.
- Escalate issues and problems within the laboratory.
- Act as a liaison between the laboratory and management.
- Research and propose ideas for improving laboratory operations.
- Develop and execute improvement plans.
- Identify and develop new testing areas and necessary equipment.
- Address unusual results and refer them for further investigation.
- Interpret standards according to the operating manual.
- Supervise all work within the designated section(s).
- Provide training and supervision to staff members in the section(s).
- Conduct internal audits, Quality Control (QC) checks, equipment maintenance, and calibration, as well as validate results.
- Manage report issuance, purchasing, inventory, and SOP reviews.
- Ensure that all equipment is calibrated according to schedule.
- Ensure compliance with SAC-SINGLAS requirements for bunker oil testing.
- Oversee all testing activities within their respective laboratories.
- Review and approve all relevant laboratory reports.
- Discuss test results with customers as needed.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science, or equivalent with 12 years related laboratory experience.
- Experienced with method-related tasks.
- Possesses SAC Singlas signatory and laboratory operation and management experience.
- Minimum 6 years as a laboratory manager, including proven technical knowledge and laboratory experience.
- Experienced in audit & CAPA management skills.
- Excellent managerial skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Expert knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
- Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management.
