Main Roles and Responsibilities
1. Undertake the one of the following contract/teaching hours per week in one of the following units(s)/component(s):
a. Design Insights & Design Futures
b. Studio
c. Studio Report Writing
2. Design, prepare and develop documents such as lesson plans and assessment descriptors as well as teaching resources/materials.
3. Plan and supervise a variety of activities such as projects, productions, collaborations, etc.
4. Supervise and assess students’ assignments/works/projects.
5. Prepare and maintain records relating to students’ progress, performance, and attendance.
6. Contribute to the review of the assigned unit(s)/component(s).
7. Mentor and provide academic care and support, including career guidance to students.
8. Keep up to date on the development of discipline related teaching practices and learning strategies.
9. Establish and maintain links with the industry and institutions to foster a total approach of academic pursuit alongside industry practice.
10. Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration and research.
11. Teach in other courses within the Faculty of Art & Design or across the Academy as appropriate, if required.
12. Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
1. Master degree qualification is preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in Design.
3. Proactive, meticulous with good interpersonal, administrative, and organisational skills and able to work in a dynamic environment.
4. Team player who enjoys working and interacting with students and people at all levels.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel and minutes-writing.
6. Good command of written and spoken English.
7. Display a cooperative and collaborative mindset, with strong interpersonal skills to work well within a team.
8. Excellent communication skills, including clearly conveying ideas and instructions.
9. A strong research or professional practice track record, demonstrating actual or potential contributions in their chosen field.
10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, effectively resolving challenges in the teaching and learning process.
