As the Marketing Manager for MDPI Singapore, you will take charge of spearheading marketing endeavours not only within Singapore but also across the Asia-Pacific region, with the main goal of solidifying MDPI's position as the world’s largest open-access academic publisher. Your role necessitates the maintenance of a professional image, consistently reflecting the company's mission and vision.
In addition to your representational duties, you will be entrusted with managing a team consisting of marketing specialists and assistants based in Singapore. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring the team operates at peak performance, aligning their efforts with organizational objectives to deliver exceptional results. You will also be responsible for effective marketing strategies tailored to both local scholars in Singapore and the wider scholarly community across the APAC region. You will cultivate relationships within the scholarly community to amplify MDPI's presence and influence within the academic sphere.
In essence, your role encompasses not only the strategic direction of marketing initiatives but also the cultivation of a cohesive team dynamic and the establishment of professional relationships vital to MDPI's continued growth and prominence in the academic publishing landscape.
Key Responsibilites
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, encompassing both online and offline campaigns, to enhance MDPI's presence in Singapore and the APAC region.
- Conduct in-depth research on industry trends and competitor activities, utilizing findings to refine marketing strategies and regularly reporting insights to the regional director.
- Supervise content creation across diverse social media platforms, elevating awareness of MDPI's journals and bolstering its standing within the scholarly community across the region.
- Serve as the company's representative at key academic conferences overseeing booth setup and ensuring seamless on-site operations.
- Coordinate overseas scholar visits, managing all aspects of planning, communication, and administrative duties.
- Lead the expansion of the marketing team in Singapore, including recruitment and performance management, fostering a culture of innovation, productivity, and teamwork to achieve organizational objectives effectively.
- Work closely with local managers at MDPI Singapore to implement innovative marketing initiatives tailored to the Singapore market.
- Cultivate strong collaborations with fellow marketing managers across the APAC region, leveraging collective efforts to strategically engage with the scholarly community.
- Ensure the smooth daily operations of the marketing department, prioritizing efficient execution of strategies and tasks with a focus on achieving targeted outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, or a related business discipline; Master's degrees are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, with exposure to managerial roles.
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills.
- Prior knowledge in academic publishing is advantageous.
- Previous experience in client interactions or client-facing roles is beneficial.
- Proficient in both oral and written English; proficiency in multiple languages, such as Chinese, Bahasa, Thai, Malay, Japanese, or Korean, is advantageous.
- Preference for previous experience working in an international environment. Relevant experience in marketing for APAC region is definitely an advantage.
- Self-driven, creative, and oriented towards achieving results.
