Support the management of insurance programs and the handling of claims, contributing to the protection of the company’s assets and operations worldwide. Working understanding of insurance principles, a passion for loss prevention, and a keen interest to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in claims management (including the incorporation of technological developments).
· Support Insurance Program Management: Assist in the review and maintenance of comprehensive insurance programs, including marine, liability, and property insurances. Participate in data collection and analysis for insurance negotiations and renewals.
· Claims Handling: Lead the claims handling process, including the initial assessment, documentation, negotiation, and settlement of claims. Ensure timely and fair resolution of all claims, minimizing financial impact on the company.
· Loss Prevention Initiatives: Actively participate in the development and implementation of loss prevention initiatives aimed at reducing risks and preventing incidents that could lead to claims. Collaborate with operational teams to identify risk areas and implement mitigation strategies.
· System and SOP Enhancement: Take an active role in identifying opportunities for enhancing the claims management system and procedures, focusing on collection of data, automation and process efficiency to improve accuracy, operational efficiency and insights.
· Documentation: Assist in the preparation of comprehensive reports on insurance, claims, and loss prevention activities for senior management.
· Stakeholder Communication: Aid in liaising with insurers, brokers, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders on matters related to insurance, claims, and loss prevention. Develop and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
Requirements
· Degree in Maritime Business / Nautical Studies / Maritime Law
· 1-3 years of relevant experience in operations, insurance and/or claims management, preferably with some exposure to the shipping or maritime industry.
· Working knowledge of insurance principles, with a strong interest in process improvement and technology-driven solutions.
· Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
· Organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines with efficiency.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
