Job Description:
- To build the companies’ knowledge base and capability in:carbon project verification standards (Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, Puro.earth, etc) and how these technical requirements apply to global, regional and domestic regulations governing carbon markets which may have implications on our operations and/or carbon projects anticipating carbon market trends e.g changing standard/regulatory requirements, market demand and carbon credit pricing financial mechanisms e.g green/blue bonds
- To communicate the above to relevant internal groups, including senior company leaderships, producing materials as necessary
- Represent the company in alliance memberships and external networking engagements (conferences, meetings, etc) to gather information and build the company's presence within the market.
- Willing to travel as and when needed. Site visits to projects in remote areas may be required
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University
- Prior experience/knowledge in carbon markets and corporate emissions reporting is a bonus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel modelling in particular)
- Some knowledge of geospatial analysis (GIS) will be useful
- Able to communicate and present ideas well
- A team player, able to work well with others
- Tenacious, with a can-do attitude
- Self-motivated and hold oneself and others accountable for a high standard of work
- Able to multitask and work under time pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities in an ambiguous environment
