Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assists head chef in food preparation, maintaining food quality expectation of food standard.
- Ensures consistency in taste, quality, quantity, temperature and presentation of food served.
- Ability to come up with new dishes on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate activities of other kitchen helpers
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
- Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards
- Quick in food preparation and is able to cope with a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ensures that there is minimum wastage in food preparation.
- Ensures freshness of food ingredients and raw materials.
- Any other duties as and when assigned by Head Chef and Company.
Requirements:
- 6 years of relevant experience in Cantonese Cuisine.
- Able to commit 6 days of work per week and 10 hours of work per day.
- Willingness to learn and listen to feedback for improvement.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Takes initiative and is passionate in the work.
- A good team player.
- Able to read food orders in Chinese and the knowledge of Mandarin/ Cantonese is essential due to the work nature of having to communicate in Chinese.
