RESPONSIBILITIES
This role within commissioning is responsible for working across and delivering digital short form video content for fast growing platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
The role will ensure that priorities and editorial strategy are aligned, also inspire and engage independent producers / content creators by articulating your editorial priorities, and work with them to create and develop ideas that meet our audiences' needs. And also, to provide creative leadership to the development process, encouraging risk taking and innovation whilst maintaining expertise to identify trends and opportunities for outstanding content.
Commissions have to demonstrate value for money, quality and originality.
This role is especially important to delivering our Youth strategy and extending Mediacorp's audience reach beyond our owned and operated platforms.
Responsibilities
- Create content that resonates with an existing fan base, yet is differentiated and engaging enough to draw in new, underserved or overlooked audience.
- Importantly, we're trying to build a returning audience / fanbase for the channel(s) / handle(s) that the content is meant for.
- Develop content direction & strategy for digital short form video content on platforms such as YouTube & TikTok.
- To be pro-active in developing briefs / proposals with production teams and to deliver the overall editorial strategy
- Commission and manage end to end production of video projects, ensuring programmes are delivered on time and budget.
- To be responsible for ensuring that programmes deliver on time and budget and to an editorially high standard. This includes scheduling and monitoring progress on programmes, anticipating problems and taking appropriate action.
- Review budgets, cast, offlines, scripts (where applicable only), marketing campaigns (where applicable only)
- Brainstorm with the Marketing and Social media teams to ensure maximum publicity for your shows.
- Collaborate with Commercial to ensure revenue optimization
- Monitor and assess qualitative and quantitative performance of programmes using data analytics and focus group studies
- Engage and manage positive, creative relationships with content creators and production teams, at a level that nurtures and develops the best ideas
- Minimum 3 5 years of working experience in production / content strategy in video content.
- Degree in Mass Communication or any related discipline is a plus
- A hybrid who's equally adept at developing content ideas & overseeing videos come to fruition/
- Ability to initiate, lead and manage cross-platform projects; you enjoy project management work/
- Strong communicator who can articulate with the ability to present ideas and direction to content providers.
- A content junkie and able to generate ideas and identify fresh areas and themes for exploration in all genres to our products and platforms.
- Have a deep passion for entertainment content and able to initiate and develop ideas for cross-platform projects/
- A team player with positive work attitude and the ability to work independently.
