What the role is
The Waste Infrastructure Management Department (WIMD) under the Infrastructure Operations & Management Division (WIOMD) oversees the availability of national waste disposal and incineration capacity, manages private waste facilities, waste disposal accounts and revenue collection by the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plants and Tuas Marine Transfer Station.
What you will be working on
You will work in the WTE Infrastructure Management Branch (WIMB) under WIMD which plans and manages the waste distribution for all waste disposal facilities including the NEA WTE plants, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) WTE plants and Tuas Marine Transfer Station/Semakau Landfill. It also manages and monitors the performance of the 3 PPP WTE plants under the Service Agreements with NEA. You will be responsible for the following:
- Monitor the performance of PPP WTE plants to ensure their compliance with the requirements of the Service Agreements and Good Utility Practice.
- Monitor and analyse data related to the operations of WTE plants and provide technical advice and expertise to support department’s operations.
- Assist in monitoring the progress and verifying the completion of refurbishment works conducted at the WTE plants.
- Assist in reviewing the WTE plants’ maintenance schedule/program, coordinating maintenance activities to ensure sufficient incineration capacity among the WTE plants.
- Assist in responding to feedbacks/queries related to waste disposal, received via OneService, myENV or online feedback form on the NEA website.
- Assist in verifying monthly invoices to ensure accurate service payments to PPP WTE plants.
- Maintain and organise files, records, and documents ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
What we are looking for
The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:
- Diploma in Engineering
- Preferably with at least 8 years of experience in operation and maintenance of WTE plants or power plants
- Preferable with experience in contract management, commissioning and performance testing of WTE plants or power plants
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
- Strong sense of responsibility
- Have a high level of integrity and honesty
- Good customer handling skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
