Job Description
- Perform as the Company nominated QC representative daily quality inspections on the various disciplines for the Company’s sub-contracted site activities: boiler welding, mechanical erection of process equipment, piping, painting, structural steel erection.
- Perform receipt inspections of goods and equipment at delivery to check completeness and to report about eventual transport damages. Monitor the storage and preservation conditions on site.
- Monitor the implementation of the approved site Inspection and Test Plans
- Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
- Monitor and perform spot-wise inspections on all non-destructive testing on site.
- Monitor subcontractor’s work tools calibration.
- Monitor level of training and qualification of all subcontractor personnel.
- Register, follow-up and monitor handling of non-conformities.
- Monitor and review that all sub-contractor QC documentation is available, compliant and complete according to the specification and ITP and in accordance to the actual progress on site.
- Coordinate exchange of relevant QA/QC documentation to and from site subcontractors and third parties (including Notified Body).
- Ensure that all sub-contractor QC documentation is hand-over as-built and complete at pre-defined inspection milestones.
- Liaise with the Company’s relevant discipline project engineers and vendor QC inspectors about quality related matters.
- Assist to site meetings with customer, sub-contractors or vendors about quality-related matters.
- Organise and chair weekly QC site meetings with main subcontractor QC personnel. Draft meeting reports and distribute to all participants, the QC Manager, the Site Construction Manager and other stakeholders.
- Invite and accompany the customer representative and third parties (including notified body) for witness and hold point activities according ITP.
- Coordinate with and report to the Company’s Site Construction Manager on all quality and safety-related issues.
Job Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical preference) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in QC inspection on welding, NDT and mechanical erection activities.
- A sound working knowledge of EN standards and PED for (boiler) welding, piping, coating, NDT and pressure testing. Demonstrated working experience with steam boiler erection and pressure equipment.
- Good understanding of mechanical erection activities, their possible problems and to act pro-actively to prevent them from happening.
- The ability to work in a team as part of the Company and to communicate with colleagues (on and off-site), enforce resolution by the sub-contractor and to follow-up related communication.
- Any certification related to QC activities (welding, NDT, painting/coating inspection, audit etc) is a plus.
- Willing to work in Tuas, shift and weekend.
- Preferable with local driving license.
