Qualifications:
- Academic bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Metallurgy/Marine Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10-15 years’ experience, with at least 5 years in marine construction and installations.
- Certifications: AWS CWI/SCWI, ASNT/PCN Level II in Visual Examination (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particles (MT), Radiography (RT), Ultrasound (UT), ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
- Familiarity with word/Excel/quality software systems.
Job Descriptions:
- Review technical specifications, drawings, procedures, and standards pertaining to project requirements.
- Prepare and review project quality documents, NDT plans and procedures, and ITP.
- Administer project internal quality audits to ensure compliance with the project quality plan.
- Monitor inspection and documentation activities of QA Inspectors to ensure compliance with inspection & test plans and project quality requirements.
- Liaise with Owner and class regarding quality-related issues, technical calibrations, and queries.
- Handle and resolve quality-related issues arising from subcontractors and in-house production.
- Check and ensure coverage of NDT as per NDT plan.
- Prepare and submit Manufacturer Data Books (MDB) to Owner and classification society.
- Review and monitor cutting plans, weld maps, material verification reports, inspection reports, NDT reports, weld traceability records, and final DC reports.
- Ensure material preservation, handling, and traceability.
- Review ITP, WPS, PQR, PWHT, and vendor documents.
- Review welding, NDT, and other equipment calibrations.
- Familiarity with codes & standards like ASME, API, ANSI, AWS, IACS, ABS, NR, etc.
- Assign systems to be tested to various supervisors and technicians involved in the operation.
- Review quality work processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with all sections for inspection & testing requirements.
- Coordinate testing/commissioning requirements with Engineering, Project Manager, QA Department, and vendors.
- Report non-conformance and issue Improvement notes, where necessary.
- Ensure timely completion of projects.
- Ensure all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
