Senior/ Research Engineer (MCF Group / AFST Division), SIMTech

We are looking for an energetic and motivated engineer to join our team. In this position you’ll play an important role in helping to develop cutting edge manufacturing technologies, as well in helping companies innovate and grow. And while doing so you’ll have the opportunity to work directly in and understand the industrial environment.

If you are passionate about engineering, process development, operating heavy machinery, advanced manufacturing, materials, and processes, this could be the role for you!

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide technical support and conduct process trials/experiments for both research and industry projects.
  • Be an integral member of a metal casting team involving the operation of heavy machinery.
  • Conduct materials characterization and testing.
  • Engage with industry partners, customers and research collaborators to develop and execute plans.
  • Provide timely project update and reports to team members, collaborators, and sponsors.
  • Perform other ad-hoc roles / tasks as required / assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / Materials Science and Engineering.
  • Experience and knowledge in metallurgy, metal solidification and behaviour.
  • Knowledge with CAD or SolidWorks is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in an R&D environment or related industry is preferred but not required.
