Responsibilities:
· Prepare and administer medication to residents
· Provide medical care and carry out nursing procedures to the residents including changing dressing, applying eye drops, serving supplements to residents
· Observe and monitor residents for condition including skin infection, sores, infection, bowel problems, loss of appetite, and report to doctors whenever necessary
· Supervise enrolled nurses, nursing aids, patient care assistants and health attendants in their work to ensure compliance with nursing and work procedures
· Assist in monitoring residents' rehabilitation program and activities are planned and scheduled accordingly
· Assist in doctor's round
· Ensure timely update of all nursing records and reports, especially before passing on to the next shift
· Ensure dispensary, medicine cupboard and fridge are tidy, and medication are still within validity dates
· Responsible for supplies & consumables and check for expiring dates
· Ensure weekly routine e.g. taking BP and weights of residents are properly done
· Make quick rounds to ensure residents are well and safe
· Ensure safety of residents at all times, especially high risk residents
· Assist residents with their personal needs including toileting, mobility, and personal hygiene
· Ensure tube feeding residents are fed according to schedule
· Assist in sending residents to hospital for checkup, attend to new admissions and discharge, if any
· Attend to queries from resident's family or relative
· Ensure compliance to workplace hygiene and safety
Requirements:
· Diploma or Degree in Nursing
· Preferably with a Advance Diploma in Geriatric Nursing
· Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board
· Preferably with 1-2 years of relevant work experience
