Assistant Purchasing Manager (S&OP/ Inventory planning)

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing purchasing strategies to optimize inventory levels and meet production demands.
  • Conduct S&OP meetings to align sales forecasts with production plans and ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Utilize ABC/XYZ analysis to categorize inventory items and prioritize purchasing activities based on demand patterns and criticality.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve inventory turnover and reduce holding costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Sales, and Finance to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with business objectives.
  • Analyze supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Oversee the procurement process from purchase requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Utilize SAP or similar ERP system to manage purchasing transactions, track inventory levels, and generate reports for analysis.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with ABC/XYZ analysis and other inventory management techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving cost savings and process improvements in purchasing operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
