Conference Executive/Manager:
Jobs in conferences/events require several skills to assist with the successful planning and execution of conferences/events. It's important for people working in conference/event planning, execution, and overall management to have good multitasking, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills and ensure that events run smoothly. They also serve as the primary contact between an organization and its clients.
A conference/event executive is responsible for working with clients to determine conference/event goals and objectives, secure venues and vendors, create timelines, coordinate logistics, manage staff and volunteers, and assist with the planning and executing marketing campaigns (developing marketing materials, such as website content, brochures, and email newsletters).
Responsibilities
Your work activities will vary depending on the size of the conference and the services provided. As a conference executive/manager, you'll need to:
· communicate daily with the management team, planning work schedules and checking client requirements
· deal with customer complaints, comments and enquiries
· ensure all events run smoothly
· lead by example in maintaining service standards
· negotiate with external service providers and suppliers as required
· carry out day-to-day troubleshooting and address problems as they arise.
