KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists first formally recognised overseas training centre in this region for their overseas Subspecialty Training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine (RCOG MFM SST).
Job Description
This is a 2-year subspecialty specialist training programme. The successful trainee will spend the 1st year training in the hospitals of the SingHealth cluster at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. This will be followed by a 2nd year training at hospitals under Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (St Mary’s Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital) as well as King’s College Hospital. The trainee will be exposed to and trained in all the subspecialties of high-risk Obstetrics, medical complications of pregnancy and fetal medicine and fetal therapy. The trainee will benefit from being exposed to the large critical mass and multi-disciplinary specialists both in Singapore and London, United Kingdom.
This training post will commence on the 1 October 2024 in Singapore and the 2nd year will be in London, United Kingdom. At the end of these 2 years of training, the successful trainee will be a fully accredited RCOG Subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
By the time of the closing date of the application, the eligibility criteria for application will include:
- At least 2 years of active clinical practice as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Registered with Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB)
- Equipped with MRCOG postgraduate qualification
- At least two 1st author publications in the specialty of obstetrics in PubMed indexed journals
- Eligible to apply for Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) funding from 1 April 2025
