Job Description: After-School Centre Supervisor

Duration of Service:
- Contract Period: From 13 May 2024 to 31 October 2024.
- Option to Extend: The School has the option to extend the Contract for a further period of 2 months (i.e. up to 31 December 2024).
Personnel Deployment Schedule:
- Once a week, Wednesday: 2.30pm to 5.30pm
- Duration per week: 3 hours
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
- Service may be required during school holidays
Option to Extend:
Month: Nov Hours: 6
Month: Dec Hours: 3
Total estimated: 9
Scope of Services:The Services required are set out as follows:
- Operate the after-school centre (The Living Room) by supervising estimated 20 students in safe use of room
- Assist GEAR-UP team to refresh room and maintain equipment/devices/games by consolidating staff/student feedback into procurement list
- Organize and facilitate weekly programs and activities such as table soccer, art, board games, and other suggestions for GEAR-UP students and those who drop-in with a goal to build rapport and connectedness with the school
- Work with GEAR-UP team to develop programs to enhance drop-in centre activities if necessary
- Provide guidance and mentorship for students with presenting issues through their challenges, to improve and develop their well-being, life skills, and resilience
- Work with the Student Development Team or counselor on identified students for interventions when necessary
- Support the running of other GEAR-UP programs
Qualification, Skill & Experience:The Personnel must minimally have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Diploma from a recognized polytechnic (or equivalent) in social work and/or mentoring, counseling-related discipline.
