Principal Project Manager

Duties

· Project management and delivery of projects (end-to-end)

· Ensures overall direction and coordination of efforts for major proposals, EPC/EPCm contracts for services or handling combination of various smaller projects of a similar technology or for the same Client.

· Enforces the solution of problems in each phase like project development/process design/detailed design/engineering design/procurement/construction/start-up

· Ensures project execution within the HSE, cost, time, quality and technical objectives to which company is committed to.

· Identifies and ensures training of team members for carrying out their respective duties

  • Ensures project parameters are in line with legal, regulatory & contractual requirements
  • Acts as "hands on" manager in a complex network of interrelated activities necessary to move technical and engineering information forward to complete the design, construction, commissioning of facilities
  • Monitors & guides contractors to ensure compliance to all Safety items as per HSE Plan
  • Prepares and issues the project execution plan (PEP) and project quality plan (PQP). Issues the project schedule; the approved budgets for services; the approved budgets for equipment and bulk material quantities if required by the nature of the project.
  • Plan, manage & monitor Project Controls & Estimation works
  • Effectively handles change management by initiating, coordinating, and seeking client approvals. Approves all proposed contract variations (Client changes: on Client's request or identified) before submittal and negotiates payment with Client.
  • Manages all stakeholders and ensures that required project information flows to him
  • Takes ownership of Project Documentations and historical filings
  • Ensures the project release to the Client

Ensures the compliance with authority submission requirements

Responsibilities include: -

· Meeting company’s financial targets as set for the projects under his supervision

· The overall planning, organization, direction, coordination, and control of all operations to meet the project objectives

· The (progress) payments and final acceptance by the Client (within the contract conditions and at an optimum cash flow)

· The adherence to the organization procedures, the project execution and quality plan and project procedures

· The preparation of the project close-out report according to the organization procedure for close-out

· Overall responsibility with respect to HSE matters for a specific project, and delegates specific related activities to his team members.

· Overall project implementation in full compliance with project Contract, Cost, Schedule as well as QA&QC.

  • He is responsible for seeing to it that no adverse situations exist in the projects for which he is responsible at all project phases. He will instruct the project team members accordingly and he will take or initiate the necessary corrective measures in consultation with Director / Senior Project Manager.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with CM, Client, trade contractors and third parties as necessary to ensure approved sequencing and safe integration of works are executed to the approved HSE policies and plans.
  • Provides support to a multi-discipline site team, site supervisors, HSE manager and assures accountability of employees and sub-contractors
  • Plans, establishes, and implements construction schedules, methods, manning charts, material and equipment requirements in liaison with CM
  • Authorizes project planning, programming, and detailed completion schedules throughout the project life.
  • Manages project indirect overhead budgets, develops fiscal plans, seeks Director / Senior PM’s approval
  • Responsible for constructability and construction planning with CM during early engineering phases of Concept, Feasibility, FEED
  • Organizes, co-ordinates KOM, weekly meetings, progress reports, cost reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate, manage and bride all information flows between functional departments like engineering, procurement, construction, estimation & project control
  • Organize project audits and inspections to ensure compliance to company ISO system
  • Perform any other duties as and when assigned by company.
