Legal Executive
Working Days: 5 Day A week
Working hours: 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm
Working Location: Jurong East
Salary: $3,500 - $5,000
Company Transport will be provided when candidate choose 8:00am-5:00pm working hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, review, and management of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
- Conduct legal research on various shipping-related or commercial matters, including maritime law, international trade regulations, transportation law including Engineering, Procurement and Construction law.
- Recording minutes of meetings.
- Collaborate with external lawyers and other team members to gather necessary information and documentation for legal proceedings and transactions.
- Maintain, organize and update legal files, databases, and records, ensuring easy accessibility and compliance with retention policies.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the shipping industry, providing updates and recommendations to the legal team as needed.
- Assist in the resolution of legal disputes, including coordinating with external counsel, drafting correspondence, and preparing evidence.
- Support the legal team in administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating document production/execution.
- Render legal support to various business units and subsidiaries in other jurisdictions.
- Provide general assistance and support to other departments on legal matters as required.
- Assist legal team to create and enhance corporate policies including data protection.
- Assist legal team to enhance corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts.
- Assist legal team to create, update and digitalize legal processes.
- Any other assistance the legal team may require.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) or diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field.
- Previous experience (min 4 years) working as a paralegal in a law firm, corporate legal department, or shipping-related industry.
- Strong understanding of legal principles and procedures, with specific knowledge of maritime law, EPC contracts and shipping regulations preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research methods and tools, including LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar platforms.
