Med Affairs Associate Director, Southeast and South Asia

Position Purpose:

As an Associate Director Medical Affairs, the main purpose of your role will be to lead a team of MSLs and build partnerships with external healthcare professionals in Southeast and South Asia, to communicate evidence based critical scientific, technical, and development issues relating to Grifols Biopharma products which are or will be marketed. Role is both an individual contributor and team leader.


Major Tasks of Position:

  1. Develop and execute local medical affairs plans directly and through assigned MSLs in alignment with global medical affairs plans and local business objectives
  2. Manage MSL(s) and support their development for optimal performance.
  3. Medical lead responsible for building and maintaining relationships with scientific thought leaders in the region.
  4. Responsible for the knowledge management in his/her respective area, acting as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, writing summaries when needed for the country/region
  5. Manage scientific events like regional advisory boards or other scientific meetings (symposia, webinars, standalone meetings)
  6. Provides medical content for medical education programs for clinicians externally and internally
  7. Responsible to participate in internal training programs to promote medical and scientific understanding of the products in the respective countries.
  8. Attends local and regional (or global when needed) medical conferences on the respective disease areas and provides reports from these meetings for internal stakeholders.
  9. Provides scientific responses to medical enquiries by internal and external customers.
  10. Regional medical representative at strategic meetings, Medical Affairs meetings, and regional or subsidiary meetings.
  11. Responsible for the accuracy of the medical content of marketing materials. Medical function in the sign off process of marketing materials.
  12. Country-level management of Grifols research programs, including ISR, RWE, research grants, Scientific Awards, and educational grants.
  13. Partner with Patient advocacy, Regulatory, and Market Access to support country/regional needs
  14. Manage budget and ensure compliance with Grifols processes and regulations.

Work Interactions:

1. Close cooperation with external key influencers in the respective therapeutic areas.

2. Source for medical information for internal teams and customers

3. Interactions with commercial (local/regional/global)

4. Internal close cooperation with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient advocacy


Capabilities

- PhD, MD, or PharmD with advanced knowledge in the respective scientific field(s) is preferred. University degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or Medicine is required.

- At least 7 years of experience in a similar regional Medical Affairs position in the pharma industry preferable

- Expert knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical basics with highest ethical standards.

- Scientific understanding (literature, clinical and basic research etc.)

- Experience managing a team. Experience working with 3rd party contractors preferable.

- Strategic thinking & influence

- Advanced communication and relationship building skills

- Presentation skills

- Good English language skills (spoken and written)

- Computer skills

- Willingness to travel throughout Southeast and South Asia and globally as required
