OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the local building and construction industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience working in construction projects, demonstrating proficiency in overseeing all aspects of project execution from inception to completion. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, budgetary constraints, and timelines.
- Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize project efficiency and productivity.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members, maintaining clear and open communication channels throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of quality and craftsmanship, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective measures as necessary to address deviations from specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety regulations and protocols, fostering a culture of safety consciousness among project team members and subcontractors.
- Budget Control: Monitor project expenditures and track financial performance against budgetary targets, identifying variances and taking corrective action to maintain financial viability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, progress reports, and change orders, providing timely updates to stakeholders as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in Singapore's building and construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing projects and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Experience in swimming pool construction, or steel structure / M&E trades is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulations in Singapore. Proficiency in industry-related and office processing software (e.g., Autodesk, Microsoft Project, Microsoft office) is essential.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary project teams to achieve common goals.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated aptitude for identifying and resolving complex project challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
