School of Social Sciences is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Associate/ Research Assistant.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of a research team that advances our research investigating the neural, physiological, and cognitive correlates of perceiving real vs fake information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of research projects
- Preparation of ethics documents to institutional review boards
- Participant recruitment
- Data collection using neurophysiological recordings, such as electroencephalography and eye-tracking
- Data processing and analysis
- Liaise with stakeholders and project collaborators
- Systems administration, including maintenance of network servers and data security
- Contribute to the production of research reports
- Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigators relevant to the research
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree (for Research Associate position) / Bachelors (Honours) degree (for Research Assistant position) in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field from University of good standing
- Experiences in cognitive experiments and/or neuroimaging (EEG) and/or electroencephalography and/or eye-tracking and knowledge of Python, R, or MATLAB are preferred
- Good project coordination and administration skills, including data management and storage
- Excellent communication (verbal and written English given that the Research Associate/Research Assistant is expected to participate in scientific presentations)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and able to work within given deadlines
- Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed
- Good task-orientation
- Attention to details and accuracy
- Flexibility in responding to fluid situations
