Job Summary
Under the direction of Corporate Communications and with Human Resources (HR) , marketing, and other functions, this role will develop and implement a regional communications plan that covers internal communications (e.g. leader connection and actions to engage team members with our Mission, Roadmap and regional priorities) and external communications (e.g. manage Zimmer Biomet’s brand through media relations and issues management).
A strategic partner to the region’s Business Group President, the role reports to the Senior Director, International Communications.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Global Communications, HR, Marketing, and other teams to create a comprehensive regional communications plan with strategies for both internal and external communications, aligning with Zimmer Biomet’s (ZB) Mission, Roadmap, and regional priorities.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Business Group President in the Asia-Pacific region and collaborate closely to understand business goals and objectives, translating them into effective communication strategies.
- Analyze the effectiveness of communication initiatives through key performance indicators and feedback mechanisms.
- Manage budget allocated for regional communication initiatives and optimize resources to achieve maximum impact and return on investments.
- Assess effectiveness of communication strategies through feedback channels, data analytics, etc. and use findings to identify and implement improvements.
- Stay informed on emerging communication trends and technologies to enhance communication practices.
Internal Comms
- Facilitate leader connection by devising communication strategies that enhance engagement among team members and implement actions to effectively communicate the Company’s Mission, Roadmap, and regional priorities internally.
- Work closely with leaders to ensure alignment and understanding of key messaging.
External Comms
- Manage ZB’s brand through effective media relations and oversee issues management to proactively address and navigate potential challenges in the external landscape.
- Craft and disseminate external communications that align with ZB strategic goals (e.g. press releases and partnering with marketing and HR on award submissions and promotion).
- In partnership with marketing, monitor industry trends, competitor communications, and market dynamics to adjust communication strategies accordingly.
Expected Areas of Competencies
- Experience with developing and executing on a range of internal and external communications strategies in a global organization.
- Ability to generate creative approaches and solutions through knowledge of a range of communication tools, techniques and channels including online, social, video, events and other multi-channel experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and build and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work to multiple deadlines and maintain high levels of professionalism under pressure.
- Strong skills in developing clear and consistent messaging and storytelling that engages team members and enhances ZB’s reputation and relationships.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or English
- 10 to 15 years of experience in communications
