The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the mosque. Working closely with the finance team, this position assists in various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes.
1. PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Assist in the collection, organisation, and analysis of financial data, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with mosque goals. Assist in financial forecasting and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements accurately and promptly.
- Monitor accounts receivable/expenses and follow up on outstanding payments or arrears.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, including gathering necessary documentation, conducting reconciliations, and addressing audit queries.
- Utilise financial software and tools effectively to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Contribute to the improvement of financial systems and procedures.
- Assist in monitoring financial activities to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial processes are aligned and support mosque objectives.
- Manage and maintain vendor management systems and implement policies
2. SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Banking and reception duties when required
- Provide support in fundraising events and initiatives
- Provide support in mosque event’s operations and manpower requirements
- Provide support in the department’s collective initiatives, and implementations and recommend plans for improvement
