Job Description

Nurtured Nest is looking for a passionate Nature Enthusiast Preschool Mandarin Teacher! We are a RE Inspired Forest Preschool based on nature, play and inquiry learning approach. We spend all mornings outdoor with our children. We also go to the forest with the little ones on a weekly basis to identify some wild animals, splash around, climb trees, dig for some earthworms, jump in a puddle of mud and many more! Requirements:

  • Candidate who demonstrate passion, creativity and is constantly on the ground with children.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education / Arts / Teaching
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in a preschool setting is preferred.
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Open-minded, willingness to learn about the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and adaptable to change.
  • Receptive to feedback and suggestions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To execute professional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the school’s policies and guidelines
  • To uphold the school’s vision, mission, philosophy and maintain professionalism as an educator at all times.
  • Undertake the responsibility of teaching and be fully committed in motivating children’s interest in Mandarin Language.
  • Be responsible in maintaining the classroom environment and overall quality of the school.
  • Encourage children to be involved in their learning by planning and implementing lessons catered to their needs and interests.
  • Source and provide appropriate learning materials and teaching aids to provide an enriching learning process for children.
  • Work as a supportive learner and facilitator alongside children and create invitations to spark their learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and principal in developing a comprehensive portfolio of children’s learning and developmental milestones for progress review during parent-teacher-conference. Educators are to maintain observation records and achievement of children to support these documentations and provide them whenever required.
  • Establish a strong and positive partnership with parents.
  • Collaborate, respect and maintain positive relationship with all staff and the management team to provide a healthy working environment.
