Salling Search has been given an exclusive mandate to search for a Sales Support Executive for our client, DESMI.

Founded in 1834 and one of Denmark’s oldest companies, DESMI is a leading specialist in the development, manufacturing, sale and service of pumps and pumping solutions for marine, industry, defence & fuel, and utility. Currently, the DESMI pumps and systems are being sold to more than 100 countries via a network of subsidiaries and distributors on six continents.

The job

  • Strategic Support Role: Assist the sales team in developing and executing effective strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets, playing a crucial role in the success of DESMI's sales efforts.
  • Product Expertise: Become an expert on DESMI's product offerings, staying up-to-date on features, benefits, and applications to effectively communicate value propositions and address customer inquiries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various departments including sales, marketing, and engineering to coordinate efforts, share insights, and ensure alignment in delivering exceptional service and support to their clients.

Responsibilities

  • To support the sales team and customers within the AP region for energy optimization evaluation and preparing of proposals with the company’s range of products and systems for business opportunities including technical and commercial clarification, contract review, order handling etc.
  • To collaborate and work closely with the project team and business partners planning for customer visits, products/systems training or presentation and business development as well as obtaining market and competition info about market intelligence, targets, performance etc.
  • Achieve sustainable growth with set goals and annual sales budget for Automation business with a focus on Energy optimization systems or products within the AP region across all served market segments.
  • To review and clarify technical specs, preparing proposals for new building or retrofit project tendering for supplying Energy Optimization Solutions for business opportunities.
  • To support, and educate business partners/agents for site surveys, technical and commercial clarification, and contract execution to improve business performance and relationships with business partners or customers.
  • Attend service calls or customer complaints and liaison with factory and customer arranging for service/repair works if required.
  • To support the company sales team selling the DESMI range of products and systems – Marine Pumps, Ballast Water Treatment Systems, Opti-save Energy Optimization systems, Fire Fighting systems and automation solutions to the Ship owners, shipyards, ship designers and business partners within the AP region.
  • To work closely with factory and business partners to achieve sustainable growth and increase our sales and market share in the marine and offshore markets.
  • To work closely with the factory and partner with other Desmi group companies to facilitate and ensure the delivery of the Desmi Group Global Strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum ITE or Diploma or Engineering degree graduated from Marine and Offshore or shipbuilding or electrical engineering system or electro-mech automation course.
  • Prior consideration for those with about 5 years of working experience with similar experiences in the marine and offshore environment and related systems or experience working in the shipyards or ship design institutions or ship owners onboard ships as marine engineers or technical superintendents.
  • Good working attitude, able to work independently with minimum supervision with a good self-drive attitude toward fulfilling the assigned tasks and set goals.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to interact with different levels of people.
  • Willing to travel overseas or onboard vessels supporting service guys and customers for system survey and verification within short notice.
