Job description
- Responsible for investigating unexpected accidents, establishing their causes, and recommending preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Develop, implement and enforce safety measures/protocols to ensure compliance with local safety regulations such as emergency response plan and risk assessment
- Carry out emergency drills, document findings and train employees with regard to general fire safety rules and procedures.
- Stay informed of workplace safety regulations in accordance with regulatory standards
- Address any form of violation of safety codes
- Identify and manage safety hazards/risks within the property
- Review, analyse and evaluate workplace safety measurements to perform preventive measures
- Collaborate with stakeholders (engineering/security/fire safety/authorities) to perform regular fire & safety inspection of equipment and facilities
- Conduct daily checks within the premises and remove or cause to be removed any fire hazard that is found within the workplace and guide accident prevention and fire safety
- Train, coordinate and supervise the Company Emergency Response Team for the premises in first-aid, fire-fighting and evacuation in the event of a fire or other related emergencies
- Co-ordinate and supervise the occupants within the premises in firefighting and in evacuation in the event of a fire or other related emergencies
- Organize campaigns, training courses, competitions, contests and other activities that will develop and maintain the interest of the guests and employees within the premises in establishing a fire-safe environment as well as to develop, coordinate and actively schedule/conduct training programs/courses for employees on the use of safety equipment and maintaining a safe working environment
- Develop, implement and execute emergency response plans with regard to various potential safety hazards to ensure property’s readiness and Fire Safety guidebook
- Maintain and update records of safety incidents, preventive measures and inspections
- Develop and maintain proper documentation of workplace safety and health records
- Conduct weekly audit checks on property and monthly WSH meeting
- Implement risk assessment, action plans and promote sustainability practices
Leadership
- Exercise due diligence and role models the values and behavioural standards set by Management
- Guide and motivate a team toward a common objective and capable to influence change and engage with employees to raise awareness.
- Review processes for possible improvements and efficiency
- Communicate and share information about potential hazards and safety in a manner that’s easy to understand on all level.
- Apply problem-solving skills when respond to workplace accidents.
Administration
- Prepare and conduct presentations and write periodic reports to General Manager, Executive Committee and Head of Departments. These reports highlight daily workplace inspection results and discuss employees ‘responses to safety activities.
- Discuss the property’s weaknesses in its safety management and propose solutions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Manager/Management.
