Job Responsibilities
- Plan Individual Education Plans (IEP)/ Individual Transition Plan (ITP), monitor students’ progress and achievements, evaluate students’ learning and prepare progress reports.
- Plan daily lesson plans/ weekly CCA, and teach meaningful lessons (in all areas of curriculum), following the UDL framework to cater to students with different learning needs and abilities.
- Implement appropriate intervention strategies and positive behaviour support to improve students’ behaviours.
- Establish an enriching and safe learning environment(within and beyond own classroom) that enhance student learning.
- Provide support and guidance to Teacher Assistants in the areas of teaching and learning
- Work collaboratively with the IEP Team and family for students’ overall growth, positive student learning and transitions.
- Assist in the coordination of events and committees.
- Share innovative ideas with colleagues at the department level and/or school level
- Coordinate and lead IEP discussion and case conferences
- Participate in Curriculum planning and development.
- Attend meetings, case discussions, home visits and other relevant staff development training
- Perform classroom and committee administrative duties, and submit required documentation timely.
Minimum Education / Qualifications
- Min. GCE ‘A’ Levels or Polytechnic Diploma with a credit in English at ‘O’ Levels or Trained Special Education Teacher
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities is an added advantage
