Job Responsibilities:
- Assist to the Technical Manager, Marine Manager and Superintendents in monitoring the vessel maintenance and operational service and repairs requirements. Communicate where required with the vessel.
- Work closely with the Technical Managers and Superintendents for sending out repairs and service requirements of the vessels to the vendors.
- Maintain and update New Building Warranty and Repair Claims Status.
- Maintain and update the electronic document Procurement System’s Purchase Order for repairs and services and workflow process on the invoicing.
- Monthly download the class status from the website, review and aid the Technical Superintend. To monitor and plan for the assigned vessel’s class survey status including CMS, COC that are due.
- Arrangement of Class Surveyor attendance.
- Assist the Technical Superintendent to monitor the assigned ship’s maintenance system (ADMAX) for any outstanding due jobs.
- To monitor closely on vessel LSA FFA annual maintenance, gyro compass annual servicing, life rafts and Lifeboat annual inspections.
- Assist The technical Superintendent to monitor vessel lubricating oil 3 monthly submissions to the assigned lubricating oil vendor’s laboratory for test and analysed results are notified to the Technical Superintendent for any advisory actions (if any) to the vessels.
- Monitors vessel monthly submission of Cooling Water and Boiler logs for review by the assigned chemical company.
- Monitors and maintain the vessel portable gas detectors for annual calibrations and service.
- Monitors the vessels portable UTI tapes for annual calibrations and service.
- Assist the Superintendent In coordination with Vessel Senior Office to with clear and precise detail work repair or service specification for quotations to the repair vendors.
- Monitor vessel offloaded items for repairs, recondition. Timely ensure same are delivered or plan for delivery.
- In close coordination with the Purchasers for any gas bottles offloaded for exchange in the off-landing note by the vessels.
- Arrange repair vendors attendance including informing the agents to coordinate for transports and accommodation where necessary.
- Inform the master on the planned technical service arrangements prior port of call.
- In close coordination with the purchasers for timely delivery of spare parts required for repairs as well as cost effectiveness on sea or land transportation cost.
- Vets, on Owner's behalf, charterer’s submission of disbursement and assignment of correct account codes.
- Liaise with Superintendents in preparation and submission of vessels insurance claims documentation.
- Arrange for stand in when not able to serve the vessel, due to travel, vacations, etc.
Requirements:
- Diploma or COC Class 3 with ship management technical department work experience
- 2 years’ sailing experience as junior deck or engineer is an advantage. Those without this criterion can be considered based on similar merits.
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- An eye for detail and analytical
- Well organized and good time management
- Good team player and self-motivator
