Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Dr Tan Yan Shuo on statistical and machine learning theory under a project on the theoretical foundations of decision trees and ensembles.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
Proving theorems, forming new theoretical hypotheses, performing simulations, writing papers to communicate results, all under the PI’s direction.
Qualifications
• Qualifications / Discipline:
PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Skills:
Strong mathematical training, deep understanding of statistical machine learning theory, especially in decision trees and ensembles.
• Experience:
Has several first author papers published in top machine learning venues (ICML, NeurIPS, AISTATS, JMLR).
