Head (Risk Analytics) - West: 2 Years Contract
Responsibilities
As a Head (Risk Analytics), you will lead a team of data scientists to develop suite of inhouse AI models to augment Cognitive workload of officers, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop data science & AI models to solve the operational challenges and support
new transformative capabilities.
You will implement and deploy solutions best meet users’ requirements, accounting for technological suitability and factors of operational needs and alignment
to organisational-level plans and roadmaps.
You will be the single contact of point for projects and
subject matter experts involving data science and AI techniques and models.
The job-holder will collaborate with various teams (within and across divisions) and is responsible to:
- Manages the successful investigations, design and development of data science & AI projects.
- Leads a data science team to work with other stakeholders to identify, scope, develop and implement data science and AI solutions to address users’ needs.
- Leads a data science team to design and implement workflows for data pre-processing and feature engineering, develop machine learning models, and evaluate techniques and algorithms.
- Guide/lead on evaluation of analytical output (e.g. model) and regular review of productionized models; refresh/ retire models.
- Leads the preparation and presentation of analytical insights that effectively describe complex quantitative methods in clear and concise communications to business users and stakeholders.
- Conducts strategic planning and develop data science & AI capabilities
- Work with relevant units to drive the adoption of data science & AI in officers’ daily work. Advise business users on how data science approach can be applied to resolve strategic and operational challenges.
- To be the single contact of point for projects and subject matter experts involving data science and AI techniques and models.
- Keep abreast of latest technological advances in data science and AI techniques.
- Will be expected to provide proper coaching/guidance of data scientists and ensure all tasks are accomplished within stipulated timeline with high quality.
- Be required to manage and supervise areas such as staff training, competency management and 360 feedback.
Job requirements
- Degree in a quantitative discipline that involves Data Science/Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics &/or Scientific Computing or relevant disciplines
- Minimum 5 years of extensive experience leading/managing teams to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches
- Knowledgeable in various areas such as artificial intelligence algorithm, machine learning and deep learning, data mining and knowledge discovery, link analysis, natural language processing, automatic speech recognition, geospatial Information System / geospatial analysis, sensor analytics, visualisation
- Experience in deploying data science/AI models in production environments
- Experience in coaching and developing data scientists
- Able to multi-task that include able to lead/oversee multiple projects
- Likes technically challenging problems
